AvtoVAZ has never done anything like this: it has become known what the completely new “Niva” may be like
One of the most noticeable elements of the upcoming update of the three-door LADA Niva Legend may be the first in its history appearance of full-fledged LED headlights. There is no official confirmation of this yet, but a photo of a car with such optics was published by the head of the LADA Sport company, Vladislav Nezvankin.
Meanwhile, LEDs appeared in the daytime running light sections (headlights) of the LADA Niva Legend SUVs after the last update of the model in 2024. They are installed in all trim levels and, as AvtoVAZ states, are more reliable and durable than lights with a simple incandescent lamp. LEDs also improve the balance of energy consumption and make the car more visible, positively affecting traffic safety: the brightness of DRLs thanks to LEDs has increased by 50%, and the brightness of the parking lights has increased by 2.5 times.
According to insiders, the introduction of LED daytime running lights into the lighting technology could be part of the "second stage" of a large-scale modernization of the model, which was first reported back in 2023.
As for the future restyling of the iconic model, as the head of product marketing at AvtoVAZ Sergey Kornienko told "Auto News of the Day", "Niva" is expecting even more changes than the previously received updated LADA Niva Travel.
“The volume of changes for the Niva Legend will be even greater, and, naturally, the price will correspond to the volume of changes that we foresee. But, in any case, in terms of the balance of added value and convenience, the Legend will still be of interest to our consumers,” Sergei Kornienko told the Auto News of the Day correspondent.
According to a representative of AvtoVAZ, the company will announce the exact prices for the restyled LADA Niva Legend closer to the start of its sales, but the Niva Travel can be used as a reference point, the basic configuration of which, after the restyling and the appearance of a 90-horsepower 1.8-liter engine, has increased in price by 76 thousand rubles.
