Changan announced the launch of a new line of Deepal products on the Russian market. The brand’s first model will be the all-wheel drive hybrid SUV Changan Deepal G318, which combines innovative technologies, a high level of safety and readiness for operation in Russian conditions.

Deepal G318 is A five-meter SUV with a next-generation hybrid powertrain. This is a series-hybrid system that includes two drive electric motors and a gasoline engine that acts as a generator to recharge the battery.

The hybrid’s total output reaches 439 hp, acceleration to 100 km/h takes 6.3 seconds, and the range exceeds 1,000 km. This combination of characteristics, according to Changan, makes the model a versatile solution for both city use and long-distance travel.

One of the main features of the Deepal G318 is its adaptive air suspension with adjustable height and stiffness. The road surface monitoring system analyzes road conditions and automatically adjusts damping parameters. The driver, in turn, is assisted by a complex of intelligent assistants, including adaptive cruise control. The model platform meets high international safety standards, the manufacturer assures.

The Deepal G318 is even larger in size than the Tank 500: 5010 mm long, 1985 mm wide and 1895 mm high, with a ground clearance of 240 mm. It has a reinforced body with torsional resistance of 45,000 N m/deg, a standard towbar with the ability to tow a trailer weighing up to 1.6 tons, and air suspension. The maximum roof load reaches 120 kg, which makes the car suitable even for heavy transportation.

The interior trim of the SUV uses “premium-level materials”, and the ergonomics are focused on long trips. In addition, the model for the Russian market is adapted to our climate conditions and is equipped with an extended “winter” package.

“Deepal’s entry into the Russian market reflects Changan’s strategy for developing high-tech and environmentally friendly areas. “The new brand is aimed at customers who value modern design, intelligent solutions, and confidence in any road conditions,” Changan noted.

It was previously reported that the Deepal G318 has been produced at the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad since October of last year. The SUVs are assembled using a semi-knocked-down method from imported components, but in the future, the plant plans to further localize production, including by establishing welding and painting of the bodywork in-house. The model has already received Vehicle Type Approval (VTA), which allows it to be officially launched on the market and begin deliveries of cars to dealers.
