A fundamentally new UAZ Patriot SUV will appear in Russia. What is known about it

“In April of this year, we integrated a two-liter diesel engine with a new six-speed gearbox into the UAZ Profi, and by the end of this year we plan to introduce them into the assembly line for the UAZ Patriot as well,” noted Alexey Spirin.
The new engine is a 2.0-liter turbodiesel with a capacity of 136 horsepower, which will be aggregated with a six-speed manual gearbox, previously unavailable for UAZs, and a new transfer case. Now all Patriots are equipped exclusively with a five-speed transmission manufactured by the Chinese company BAIC.
In addition, in September, the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant will begin producing large Sollers ST9 pickups (rebranded JAC T9 – ed.), and in 2026, UAZ will start producing a new frame SUV, which will be assembled using a full production cycle – with welding and stamping of body elements directly in Ulyanovsk.
Earlier, in April, UAZ began equipping the Patriot and Pickup with an updated UAZ Navi infotainment system with more powerful processors, increased RAM and built-in memory (2 GB and 32 GB, respectively), an improved Bluetooth 5.0 module and a new version of Android 10.0 OS.
