Skoda Enyaq and Enyaq Coupé: modern, solid design and extended range
Skoda recently unveiled the first teasers of the new Enyaq and Enyaq Coupé, introducing significant innovations in both design and performance. These updates are aimed at strengthening Škoda’s position in the electric SUV market, offering customers a cutting-edge product in terms of aesthetics, efficiency and technology.
Modern Solid Design: The New Face of Electric Technology
The Modern Solid design language represents a turning point for Škoda, giving the new Enyaq and Enyaq Coupé a more sophisticated and modern appearance. The front end is dominated by the illuminated “Tech-Deck Face”, which replaces the traditional grille, creating an innovative visual effect. The headlights, with a slimmer design, blend harmoniously with the lines of the side panels, and the robust bumpers give the car a touch of grandeur.Special “Dark Chrome” accents adorn the Škoda lettering on the bonnet, lower bumper and side skirts, underscoring the elegance of the design. In addition, the new exclusive Olibo Green colour scheme offers an excellent option for the most demanding customers.
Optimised aerodynamics for greater range
The cosmetic changes are not only cosmetic, but also significantly contribute to improving the car’s efficiency. Improved aerodynamics, achieved thanks to the updated front end and other design details, optimize air flow, increasing the autonomy of the Enyaq and Enyaq Coupé models. In particular, the Enyaq Coupé stands out with its roof, which smoothly slopes back from the B-pillar, making it the most aerodynamic model in the Škoda lineup. This design not only improves energy efficiency, but also adds a sporty profile to the car.
Enhanced performance and fast charging
In addition to design innovations, the new Enyaq and Enyaq Coupé offer significant improvements in performance. The 85 and 85x versions, which replace the previous 80 and 80x models, are equipped with an advanced permanent magnet synchronous motor on the rear axle, producing 210 kW. This increase in power results in acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds and a top speed of 180 km/h. Optimized battery management and a new pre-conditioning function reduce charging times to less than 30 minutes. In particular, the all-wheel drive versions of the Enyaq 85x and Enyaq RS now offer even better charging performance thanks to increased DC charging speeds at fast charging stations with a capacity of up to 175 kW. Charging the 82 kWh (77 kWh net) high-voltage battery from 10 to 80% now takes just 28 minutes: eight minutes or 22% less than before. Rear-wheel drive variants of the Enyaq 85 continue to charge at a maximum rate of 135 kW.
Extended range for worry-free travel
Thanks to improvements to the battery and aerodynamics, the Enyaq 85 offers a range of up to 566 km according to the WLTP cycle, while the Coupé version reaches 576 km. All-wheel drive variants also benefit from an increased range, making these models ideal for long journeys without the need for frequent charging stops.
New technologies for a more comfortable driving experience
The new Enyaq and Enyaq Coupé are equipped with advanced technologies that enhance the driving experience and passenger comfort. These include the Walkaway function, which automatically locks the car when the driver leaves with the key, and an improved voice assistant that transcribes spoken instructions, providing immediate visual feedback. The infotainment system has a more intuitive and customisable interface, including new maps for the navigation system and advanced features such as interaction with automatic cruise control and battery pre-conditioning when approaching a charging station.
Updated range and prices.
The 2024 Enyaq and Enyaq Coupé range offers a variety of variants to suit the needs of a wide range of customers. Prices for the Enyaq 54.500 start from €85-56.500, while the base price for the Coupé version is €250-66.300. The sporty Enyaq Coupé RS with 1,000 kW is available from €1,000.
Conclusion
With the facelift of the Enyaq and Enyaq Coupé models, Skoda demonstrates its ongoing commitment to innovation and offers electric vehicles that combine design, performance and technology. The introduction of the “Modern Solid” design language and the increase in autonomy represent important steps towards sustainable and future-oriented mobility.
