The official premiere of the Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV took place. So far, only the seven-seat L version has been presented. It has three rows of seats and an extended wheelbase. The standard version of the Jeep Grand Cherokee will be presented later.
The new Grand Cherokee is built on a fundamentally new platform, which has not yet been used on any Jeep model. Like the previous generation, the Grand Cherokee has a unibody body, 60 percent of which is made of high-strength steel. The trunk lid and hood are made of aluminum. The L version is 18 centimeters longer than the standard version. The overall length of the top version is 5.2 meters.
Depending on the configuration, the Grand Cherokee can be equipped with two suspension options – spring and air. With the air suspension, the ground clearance can be changed from 21 to 25.5 centimeters. In the first days of sales, the Jeep Grand Cherokee will be available with gasoline engines. The first is the Pentastar V6 with a displacement of 3.6 liters and a capacity of 294 horsepower, the second is the HEMI V8 with a displacement of 5.7 liters and a capacity of 361 horsepower. Both engines are equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Sales of the new product will begin in the summer of 2021, prices have not yet been announced.
