The British tuning studio TECNIQ has prepared a special version of the Land Rover Defender SUV, which is dedicated to the Chinook military helicopter. This American helicopter has been in service with the British Air Force for many years.
The exclusive Land Rover Q40 Defender SUV is built in a single copy and will be sold at the Bonhams auction in September. The proceeds from the sale of the car will be donated to the British Royal Air Force Association. The special version differs from the standard car in a whole set of modifications.
Special glossy and matte materials, as well as dark green paints, were used to paint the body to imitate the color of the Chinook military helicopter. The radiator grille is made of carbon fiber, wheel arch extensions are also installed, and air vents are made on the hood and fenders. The door handles are covered with anodized aluminum. The body also features a pattern inspired by the flight suits of helicopter pilots.
Under the hood of the Land Rover is a four-cylinder turbocharged Ford EcoBoost engine with a working volume of 2.3 liters. After modifications, it produces 307 horsepower and 432 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
