New engines and gearboxes for cars to be produced in Russia
The Kaliningrad Avtotor plant will localize production of engines and transmissions for its cars, as well as other components, including gearboxes and steering systems. The president of the holding company of the same name, Denis Pak, spoke about this in an interview with Gazeta.Ru.
“We’ll start with non-ferrous casting and eventually move on to organizing black casting casting with subsequent mechanical processing. This will allow localization of such critical components as internal combustion engines, brake systems, steering systems, gearboxes. Perhaps, if we agree with our key partners, then localization of transmissions and key components for transmissions, “said Denis Pak.Earlier, AvtoNovosti Dnya reported that the AmberAvto brand, created by Kaliningrad Avtotor, began selling its electric sedan AmberAvto A5 at a special price from 1,499,999 rubles. This price tag is valid for a limited batch of cars from July 1, 2025.
