“At the moment, we “We are completing the key stages of developing our own compact electric vehicle and are moving on to preparing for production. Our initial goal was to create an affordable electric vehicle with a high level of localization, focused primarily on delivery services, car sharing, as well as on the mass consumer with an average income level,” said Denis Pak.
The head of Avtotor added that the plant has already approved the main version of the power plant of this electric car, which has proven its reliability and fully complies with the localization requirements.
In addition, as part of the work on the car, electric motors of our own production, as well as a gearbox and inverter created jointly with FSUE NAMI, were tested. In the near future, it will be equipped with Russian battery modules from the RENERA company. The equipment for this project has already been manufactured and is undergoing the acceptance stage, the source noted.
Earlier, Denis Pak said that the dimensions of the first car of Avtotor’s own design will be close to the A-class, which includes the Daewoo Matiz, Kia Picanto and other similar models that have long been familiar to Russians, and it is planned to sell it not only to individuals, but also to corporate clients, as well as social services.
We remind you that in August last year, Avtotor put into operation a new plant for the production of electric motors. The site, built in Kaliningrad as part of a special investment contract between the holding, the government of the Kaliningrad region and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, is designed to produce up to 60 thousand electric motors per year.
Meanwhile, the AmberAuto brand created by Kaliningrad's Avtotor has begun selling its electric sedan AmberAuto A5 at a special price of 1,499,999 rubles. This price tag is valid for a limited batch of cars from July 1, 2025.
