The Lexus brand has officially unveiled the new generation of its flagship SUV, the Lexus LX. The car was presented four months after the platform-sharing Toyota Land Cruiser 300 was shown. The world premiere took place simultaneously in several cities around the world. Moscow was one of the cities where the world premiere took place.
Thus, the exterior of the Lexus LX is designed in a new corporate style with a large radiator grille, and a large Lexus inscription is applied to the trunk lid. The SUV is built on the TNGA platform using the GA-F platform. The new Toyota Land Cruiser 300 and the Toyota Tundra pickup truck are also based on it.
Thanks to the extensive use of aluminum in the design of the car, the Lexus LX has become 200 kilograms lighter than the previous model. As for the engines, the new product received two turbocharged V6 engines. The first – a gasoline unit develops 415 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque. The second – a turbodiesel produces 299 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque.
Both power units are controlled by a ten-speed automatic. Two displays appeared in the cabin. The first is a small 7-inch display, the second is a large 12.3-inch display for controlling multimedia and car functions. The Lexus LX also received a fingerprint driver recognition function.
