The final stage of the Russian Circuit Racing Series RCRS took place this weekend in Krasnodar Krai on the Sochi Autodrom track. The winners in several categories were the pilots of the factory team from Tolyatti. The championship titles were won in the Touring and Touring Light classes.
Kirill Ladygin became the RCRS champion in the Touring class, although he took only fourth place in the final stage. The pilot of the Lada Sport ROSNEFT team becomes the champion in the Touring class for the second year in a row. Young racer Ivan Chubarov also won in the Touring Light class. In the team standings, Lada ROSNEFT also won the championship.
Kirill Ladygin’s main rival, Dmitry Bragin, got into an accident on the very first lap, his Audi RS3 of the TAIF Motorsport team crashed into the barrier. However, not only did it remain mobile: at the end of the race, Bragin drove into the pits, installed fresh tires – and, returning to the race, showed the best lap.
In the SMP GT4 Russia class, the results of the Sochi stage were preliminary. The judge of the Russian Automobile Federation had technical questions for representatives of SRO – the international promoter of the GT classes. The result of the pilot Alexander Maslennikov, performing on the KTM X-Bow, won the first race and finished second in the final one, however, the judges had questions about the parameters of the engine of his car.
So far, the winners of the first race are Anton Nemkin (Mercedes-AMG GT4, Capital RT MotorSharks) and Vadim Meshcheryakov (Mercedes-AMG GT4, RScar). The second was won by Denis Remenyako, he and Maslennikov were joined on the podium by Alexander Vayntrub.
In the “Touring Light” class, an indisputable victory was won by Ivan Chubarov, performing in a Lada Granta for the Lada Sport ROSNEFT team. Chubarov not only became the best in qualifying, but also won two races.
In the S1600 class, Egor Sanin (Kia Rio, AKHMAT Racing Team) was on the podium in both races – as the winner and bronze medalist. In the first case, he was joined by Rustam Fatkhutdinov (Hyundai Solaris, AKHMAT Racing Team) and Vasily Vladykin (LADA Granta, GTE RT), in the second – by the winner Mikhail Grachev (LADA Granta, AKHMAT Racing Team) and Ilya Rodkin (Kia Rio, AG Team). Rustam Fatkhutdinov became the silver medalist of the Russian Cup.
Vasily Vladykin became the bronze medalist. The 2021 RCRS Championship is over, but the Lada Sport Rosneft team will still have to return to Sochi Autodrom to compete in the WTCR World Cup final.
