A Batmobile with machine guns has been put up for auction in the US.

A replica of the Batmobile from the 1989 film is up for sale at Mecum Auctions in Houston, Texas. The car is based on a Chevrolet Corvette sports car and features a retractable cockpit and machine guns.

The car was built by specialists at the American tuning studio Putsch Racing using components and assemblies from a 1989 Chevrolet Corvette. The same car served as the basis for the original Batmobile in the superhero film. To build the replica, the tuning studio’s specialists designed a frame with independent suspension on all wheels. Access to the cockpit is through a special hatch that extends using servo motors. The Batmobile replica is equipped with a huge turbine in the front and an aerodynamic body kit. The car also features replicas of two machine guns that extend from the body and simulate firing.

The Batmobile’s interior features power-adjustable seats, a police frequency scanner, an infrared rearview camera, a public address system, a siren, and a fighter jet sight. Under the hood, the Batmobile is powered by a 5.7-liter V8 engine producing 250 horsepower. According to the seller, the Batmobile can be equipped with any V8 engine, as well as a V10 engine from a Dodge Viper. The owner has achieved a top speed of 190 km/h (112 mph). The Batmobile is fully roadworthy. The Batmobile auction will be held in January 2021.
