The new all-wheel drive crossover will officially go on sale in Russia. What will the new Changan Uni-S be equipped with?
Changan has announced the launch of the all-wheel drive version of the Uni-S crossover in the Russian market.
The most popular crossover in the Changan lineup, the Uni-S, will soon enter a new generation in Russia. Unlike the current version, it will be available with a choice of two turbocharged engines, not just one. In addition, it will have a four-wheel drive system, the brand’s press service told Avtonovosti Dnya.

As representatives of Changan clarified, the new Changan Uni-S will enter the Russian market with a 1.5-liter A turbocharged engine from the Blue Core family, which in the front-wheel drive version will produce 157 hp, and with all-wheel drive – 181 hp. In both cases, it will be paired with a seven-speed DCT “robot” with a wet dual clutch.
The all-wheel drive in the new Uni-S is based on an electromagnetic clutch from BorgWarner. Good cross-country ability will be ensured together with the rear multi-link suspension and 188-mm ground clearance.
Changan also notes that the crossover is fully adapted for use in the Russian climate. It is equipped with an extended “winter package”, which includes a heated steering wheel, heated front and rear seats, heated windshield, mirrors, and windshield washer nozzles.
The technological filling of the new Uni-S includes a multimedia system with a central display with a diagonal of 14.6 inches, support for connecting smartphones via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto protocols and built-in Yandex online services (Navigation and Music with voice control), wireless charging for a smartphone with a power of 15 W and a digital instrument panel with a diagonal of 10.25 inches.
The new Changan Uni-S is equipped with a range of driver assistants for safety, including adaptive cruise control, emergency braking and lane keeping systems. The all-round visibility is enhanced by 540° cameras with a “transparent chassis” function, which allow you to see obstacles under the car, and the dash cam records from all four cameras, capturing events while parking and driving.
Another “strong point” of the new model, Changan says, is the comfort of the driver and passengers. The front seats are electrically adjustable: (the driver’s seat has six settings and memory, the passenger’s seat has four settings), heating and ventilation. A “welcome” landing with automatic seat adjustment is also provided. In addition, the list of “comfort options” will include an electric trunk lid with contactless access, a panoramic roof with a sunroof, as well as ambient interior lighting with 256 colors.
It was previously reported that Changan is preparing to start sales in Russia of another new product – the seven-seat crossover CS75 Pro. As reported to “Auto News of the Day” by the brand’s press service, it will please potential buyers with a large trunk and a spacious second row of seats with longitudinal adjustments.
