On March 8, a 27-year-old Belarusian tried to export a BMW with Belarusian license plates from Poland to Russia. The car was stopped by Polish border guards during a border check. As it turned out, the car was wanted.
One of the border guards recognized the car: it had previously crossed the border, but with Czech license plates. After additional checking, it turned out that the BMW was registered to a leasing company in the Czech Republic.
The attempt to export the car to Russia was unsuccessful. The car, valued at 120,000 zlotys (96,037 rubles), was seized. The driver and car were handed over to Braniewo police for further investigation.
