Kia has released a new model exclusively for the European market. This is a Kia K4 Sportwagon station wagon, the sales of which will be limited in time, reports the portal 110km.ru.

The Kia K4 Sportwagon is a station wagon with a roomy trunk. The length of its body, compared to the sedan and hatchback of the same name, has grown to 4695 mm, but the wheelbase, like other versions of the Kia K4, has not changed and remains at 2720 mm. The trunk volume of the new five-door is 604 liters in the case of the gasoline modification and 482 liters in the mild hybrid.

The base Kia K4 Sportwagon is powered by a 1.0-liter T-GDI turbocharged gasoline engine with 115 hp, which is paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The same engine is installed in the hybrid version – there it works in tandem with a 48-volt starter-generator. A 1.6-liter T-GDI engine producing 150 or 180 horsepower and mated to a seven-speed robotic gearbox will also be available.

The price and sales start date of the Kia K4 Sportwagon have not yet been announced. But, according to media reports, the launch of the model outside Europe is not planned.
Earlier, Kia registered a new trademark in Russia, despite the cessation of official sales. These actions may be aimed at protecting intellectual property in order to retain the rights to the brand and technology in the relevant product categories.
