Now buyers have only three sedans: the compact Versa priced from $ 17,390, the updated Sentra with a price tag of $ 22,600 and the larger Altima, the price of which starts at 27 thousand. However, according to industry sources, two of these models will soon be discontinued.
It is reported that 2025 will be the last year for the Versa and Altima. Thus, only the Sentra will remain in the American Nissan lineup. This move seems logical amid growing interest in crossovers, but it’s causing disappointment among fans of traditional passenger cars.
Against this backdrop, Europe is discussing an unexpected idea: releasing a sedan based on the Nissan Qashqai. Today, the Qashqai is one of the most popular crossovers in the region, but designers and enthusiasts have already imagined what a four-door version could look like. Such a car could become a kind of European equivalent to the Sentra, filling a niche between compact and mid-size sedans.
There are no official comments from Nissan yet, but the discussion is gaining momentum. Despite the declining interest in classic car bodies, the release of a sedan based on the Qashqai could prove to be a successful solution for Europe, especially considering that some car enthusiasts still value the comfort and practicality of traditional models.
