The German company Volkswagen has officially unveiled the most powerful version of the eighth-generation Golf R hatchback. Under the hood of the new model is a two-liter turbo engine producing 320 horsepower.
Officially, the new Golf R has become the most powerful Golf in the entire history of the model. Under the hood of the hatchback is a four-cylinder turbo engine EA888 evo4. Its power is 320 horsepower, and the torque reaches 420 Nm. The engine is paired with a seven-speed DSG-7 gearbox.

The car has received the 4Motion all-wheel drive system with variable torque vectoring on the rear axle. The new Golf R accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h, but can be increased to 270 km/h for an additional fee. An Akrapovic exhaust system is also available as an option. The new Volkswagen Golf R will go on sale in Europe before the end of 2020. The cost is still unknown, but the price will not be less than 50 thousand euros.
