The Japanese company Nissan has unveiled an updated version of the Navara pickup truck. The new model features new safety systems, improved comfort, and improved off-road capability. The design, which had remained unchanged for six years, has also been significantly redesigned.
The pickup truck has a completely updated front end. It now features a large grille with a massive frame. Top-of-the-line versions of the truck will feature all-LED headlights. The Navara also features new taillights, a different tailgate, and completely different bumpers. The top-of-the-line pickup is called the Navara Pro-4X. It differs from the standard model in that it features off-road trim elements, wheel arch extensions, contrasting inserts, and 17-inch wheels. The top-of-the-line version features a reinforced rear suspension, increasing the Navara’s payload capacity to 1,200 kg. Engineers have redesigned the steering rack, making it easier to maneuver at low speeds.

The interior features a new three-spoke steering wheel and a 7-inch trip computer screen. The multimedia system now has an 8-inch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Soundproofing has also been improved, and higher-quality trim materials have been used in the interior. Among the electronic assistants, the Navara received lane keeping, all-round visibility, and automatic braking systems.

The pickup truck versions for Asian countries received a 2.3-liter diesel engine with two turbochargers instead of a 2.5-liter diesel engine. Engine output is 163 or 190 horsepower, depending on trim level. The engine can be paired with a six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive are available, with the front wheels being permanently engaged. The pickup truck is assembled in Thailand, where it will go on sale this December. The restyled models will then be available in other Asian countries. Production will also be established in South Africa and Mexico. In South America, the pickup truck is sold under the name Nissan Frontier.
