Mercedes-Benz unveiled the new generation Maybach S-Class

Mercedes-Benz held an online presentation of the new luxury sedan Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

Traditionally, the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class version received an elongated body and an increased wheelbase. The car can be visually distinguished by its two-tone body paint, different wheel rims, and a radiator grille with vertical slats. Also, instead of a three-pointed star on the car body, Maybach badges are installed.

The most significant difference from the regular S-Class can be considered the Maybach interior. The increased wheelbase allowed German engineers to create more legroom for rear passengers. Now the rear seats can be folded almost horizontally. The seats also have a calf massage function. Starting from the basic configuration, the seats will be trimmed in Nappa leather. For an additional fee, you can order the Executive Rear Seat Plus package, which includes a retractable table and a central armrest between the seats, which will have cupholders with a heating and cooling function. The new Mercedes-Maybach has received an improved noise insulation system.

The rear doors can be opened with a button from the driver’s seat or with the key. Sensors are installed in the doors that warn you of an approaching moving vehicle when leaving the car. Passenger comfort is provided by air suspension with the Mercedes Active Body Control system. It allows you to adjust each shock absorber individually. The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class also has a front camera that scans the area in front of the car and adjusts the suspension according to the road surface. So far, only one version is available: the Mercedes-Maybach S580, with a four-liter turbocharged engine producing 580 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. A V12-powered version will be available later, and pricing has not yet been announced. In Russia, the new Mercedes-Maybach may appear in the summer of 2021.
