Changan’s luxury brand Avatr has received Vehicle Type Approval (VTPA) for the electric gran coupe Avatr 12, which marks the final stage of preparation for the start of sales of the model in Russia. This was reported to “Auto News of the Day” by the press service of the Chinese company.

“This event paves the way for the launch of one of the most anticipated new products of the year in the luxury electric vehicle segment,” the press service of Avatr emphasized.

Avatr 12 is a spectacular five-door electric gran coupe that combines technology, aesthetics and a high level of comfort. The model’s expressive silhouette is formed by a panoramic glass roof, smoothly flowing into the rear glazing with a total area of 2.57 square meters.

The dimensions of the car – length 5020 mm, width 1999 mm and wheelbase 3020 mm – emphasize its status and provide spaciousness in the cabin. The interior features a minimalist design and natural materials, while the air suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers provides a combination of comfort and a sporty character.

The brand places special emphasis on personalization. Seven exterior colors are available, including an exclusive matte purple shade. The interior is available in three color options: light, dark, and a combination with contrasting accents. Buyers will have access to four trim levels, including a sports exterior package, innovative “virtual mirrors” (cameras instead of traditional side mirrors) and several wheel design options.

As a reminder, the Avatr brand’s first-ever model on the Russian market was the Avatr 11 electric crossover, which went on sale at the end of January. It is offered in three trim levels: two five-seater “90 kWh RWD 5 seats” and “116 kWh AWD 5 seats”, as well as a four-seater “116 kWh AWD 4 seats”, priced from RUB 6,950,000. All cars come with an official factory warranty of 8 years or 160,000 km.

Each buyer of Avatr 11 gets access to a proprietary mobile application in Russian, developed specifically for the Russian market. The application allows you to remotely control the main functions of the car – from climate control and door opening to remote parking – and completely replaces the traditional key.
