About two weeks have passed since July 20, the day the new Lada Iskra model (sedan and station wagon) went on sale in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Tolyatti. Dealerships received an initial, rather limited batch of cars, which did not include the most affordable options, namely the basic configuration. The launch of these versions on the market has been temporarily postponed.
“Rossiyskaya Gazeta” managed to find out from AvtoVAZ representatives the approximate launch dates for the Iskra in the basic configuration. According to the information received, the release of this version is scheduled for August, immediately after the end of the plant employees’ corporate vacation. It is important to note that the basic configurations will account for only a tenth of the total Lada Iskra production volume.
It should be recalled that the new model is offered in several modifications: a sedan, a traditional station wagon and an “off-road” Cross version. The engine range is represented by naturally aspirated engines with a capacity of 90 and 106 horsepower, which are aggregated with a five- and six-speed manual transmission, as well as a CVT. The most budget option, a sedan in the “Comfort” configuration, has a price tag of 1,249,000 rubles.
