“Shaper model”: dealer reveals potential of luxurious GAC M8 Lounge with lounge chairs
Dealer talks about prospects of new GAC M8 Lounge and lists competitors
The flagship four-seater version of GAC M8 Lounge minivan will compete with WEY 80, Voyah Dream, Hongqi HQ9, as well as Zeekr 009 and Li Mega. Sergey Vorobyov, head of the sales department at GAC Avtodom, shared this opinion with Avtostat.
According to Vorobyov, the four-seater configuration will be niche, but will attract attention to the brand and will become an image model. He noted that the GAC M8 Lounge is capable of attracting the interest of an audience that previously chose sedans of European brands that have left the market and is now looking for a comfortable solution with a driver. Vorobyov emphasized that buyers of this version most often already own premium SUVs or sedans and value privacy, space and comfort in the rear seats.
“The appearance of a four-seater version will certainly attract even more customers to the GAC M8 Lounge and, as it seems to us, will play the role of the so-called “shaper model” – this happens when a particular product has the most attractive qualities and even if this product itself does not suit the buyer for some characteristics, it still has a positive effect on the entire brand,” said Sergey Vorobyov.The GAC M8 Lounge became available for purchase in Russia on July 1 at a price of 7,499,999 rubles. The minivan, 5,212 mm long and with a wheelbase of 3,070 mm, offers a 2+2 layout with separate second-row seats separated by a sound-insulating partition. It has a built-in 34-inch multimedia screen, behind which is placed electrochromic glass.

Wide seats with an “aviation” profile can be fully folded into a horizontal position, providing rest on the road. The seats are adjustable in 10 directions, have massage, ventilation and heating functions. Individual tables and wireless charging are available, the audio system is presented in a version with 13 speakers.
Recall that earlier the Russian company Sollers presented a new model of the Sollers brand at the industrial exhibition Innoprom in Yekaterinburg - the Sollers SP7 minivan. Its production with welding and painting started at the plant in Yelabuga.
